1. About these Terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bumpr website and mobile app (together, the “Platform”) and any booking you make through it. The Platform is operated by Bumpr ApS, a company incorporated in Denmark under CVR no. 46460960 (“Bumpr”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or making a booking, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Platform.

2. What Bumpr is

Bumpr is an online travel marketplace that sells stays in villas in Bali, Indonesia at discounted prices. Villas are owned and operated by independent villa owners and property managers (“Owners”). Bumpr is the merchant of record for bookings: you book and pay through the Platform, and Bumpr pays the Owner. The accommodation itself is provided by the Owner.

3. The Bump — the 18-hour notice clause

Bumpr’s discounted prices are made possible by a flexibility clause we call the bump. By booking through Bumpr, you accept the following:

• Bumpr may release (end) your booking early so the villa can be returned to its owner. We will give you at least 18 hours’ notice before this takes effect.
• If you are bumped, all unused nights of your booking are automatically refunded in full (see our Refund & Cancellation Policy).
• We will suggest replacement villas of comparable or better standard on the Platform — the choice is always yours. If you book one, it is a new booking at its listed price.

The bump is the trade that enables the discount: you accept the possibility that your booking may be cut short with 18 hours’ notice, and in exchange you pay materially less than the villa’s full price. If you require guaranteed accommodation in one specific villa for your entire stay, Bumpr is not the right product for that trip.

4. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into binding contracts to use the Platform. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Bookings are for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing. At check-in, the villa host will require you to show valid photo ID; the name on it must match your Bumpr user profile.

5. Bookings and payment

Bookings are for same-day check-in: your stay starts on the day you book it — you cannot book for a future date. A booking is confirmed when you complete checkout and receive a booking confirmation from us. Prices are shown at checkout in the displayed currency and include the charges stated there. Payment is collected at the time of booking by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details. You are responsible for any travel documents, visas, insurance and transport related to your trip.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations, early departures and bump refunds are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: you may cancel or leave at any time; the next upcoming night is non-refundable, and all later booked nights are refunded. If you are bumped, all unused nights are refunded automatically.

7. Right of withdrawal

Under Danish and EU consumer law, the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to accommodation booked for a specific date or period (cf. Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU and the Danish Consumer Contracts Act). Your cancellation rights are instead as set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which is more flexible than most accommodation providers offer.

8. Your conduct during a stay

You agree to treat the villa and its staff with reasonable care, to comply with reasonable house rules communicated by the Owner, to respect stated occupancy limits, and to comply with local law. Owners may charge you directly for damage you cause beyond normal wear and tear. Bumpr may suspend or close accounts used fraudulently or abusively.

9. Owners and listings

Owners are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Bumpr. We take reasonable steps to verify listings, but villa descriptions and photos are provided by Owners. If a villa materially fails to match its listing, contact us and we will work to resolve it, including suggesting alternative villas where appropriate.

10. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections. Subject to that: Bumpr is not liable for events outside our reasonable control (including natural events, government action or Owner insolvency); our aggregate liability for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking; and we are not liable for indirect losses such as missed flights or other travel arrangements. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Intellectual property

The Platform, the Bumpr name and logo, and all content we create are owned by Bumpr ApS or our licensors. You may not copy, scrape or reuse them without our written permission.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you make a booking applies to that booking. We will notify account holders of material changes.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes may be brought before the ordinary Danish courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. As an EU consumer you may also complain to the Danish Center for Complaint Resolution (Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark, www.naevneneshus.dk) or use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
